 D2B Sustain the Gain

The Door-to-Balloon (D2B): An Alliance for Quality was developed in 2006 as a national campaign to improve the timeliness of reperfusion therapy for patients with heart attacks by facilitating the adoption of evidence and guideline-based best practices. The D2B Alliance is a national effort to enlist clinicians, administrators, other health care professionals, hospitals and other partners to work together in providing coordinated diagnosis and treatment of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMI).

D2B: Sustain the Gain is the next phase of the D2B campaign. The goal: to assist hospitals in continuing to implement the strategies necesssary to maintain the gains made in reducing D2B times. The ACC recognizes the challenges inherent in sustaining D2B times of 90 minutes or less and seeks to ease this burden by developing the materials and support tools hospitals need to continue their success.

Sustain the Gain features increased participant communications, including Webinars, newsletter and forums. To increase the sharing of successes among participants, the program also profiles organizations that have experienced remarkable successes, highlighting their stories and strategies used to "sustain the gain" in their reduction of D2B times.
